Or, more specifically, why I want to live a lifestyle of freedom.
I think I’ve always had a freedom mindset- traditional 9 to 5 jobs never really fit; I would jump in, excited for possibility, then grow bored as soon as I had learned all there was to know about that subject and want to move on. Which is probably why I flitted from jot to job for many years before becoming self employed in the early 1990s.
The WHY behind my freedom lifestyle? Enjoyment, pure and simple. The time to enjoy my family, enjoy my health, enjoy my surroundings… Because, really, no one ever wished they had spent more time at a desk, in an office, in pain, in misery.
The hardest part of the freedom lifestyle will be letting go of things that, ultimately, just don’t matter. Maybe it’s the big house… or maybe it’s an idea brewing in my mind. Deciding what deserves to remain isn’t a single choice- quite a bit is rooted in family and home, where I am but 1/4 of the vote.
